This single-varietal Chardonnay is made with grapes from vines grown in clay-siliceous soils on limestone rock. The yields here are very low, only 20 hectoliters per hectare. Vintage 2021 The 2021 vintage will be remembered in Tuscany as a powerful one. Concentration, so the grapes were smaller beautiful, airy. It’s kind of a mix between 2015 and 2020. Where you have on one side the character that we have been developing in the last years, this freshness that is really dominant and on the other side you have the opulence, generosity, a kind of “flesh - ness” in the wine. The season started with a mild and rainy winter which permitted the accumulation of water reserves and an early budbreak. After some cooler temperatures in April, spring continued amicably as May brought enough rain to allow the water supply. Having vineyards in windy regions over 300m in altitude permitted the regular growth of the sprouts in spring and an even maturation in. Moreover, high temperatures and dry weather conditions in August helped the phenolic ripeness. The vines set a beautiful crop assisted by some rainfalls and cooler temperatures in September. The harvest started on September 20th and lasted through October 16th.750 mlAsk about this

France, Champagne APPELLATION: Champagne AOC GRAPES: 83% Grands crus and 17% de Premiers crus: 60% Pinot Noir from the Premiers and Grands crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne (Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzenay et Verzy) 40% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Mesnil, Chouilly, Cramant, Vertus) APPEARANCE: A beautiful golden yellow, glinting with bright sparkles. PALATE: The balance of a tension achieved by the fullness of the wine (fresh yellow raspberry, fresh quince, honey biscuits and lemon caviar) symbolised by the conduct of noble flavours (fresh fig, liquorice and pigeon heart tomato). A texture with a strong personality, with its limestone imprint and an incredible intensity, curbed by its fully integrated low dosage. The finish with a rare complexity develops towards notes of toasted bread and bergamot. FOOD PAIRING: This impressive vintage with great depth, tense and mineral, characterised by an elegant vinosity, offers you all the distinction of a well-aged champagne. SERVICE TEMPERATURE: Served at cellar temperature (11°C to 12°C), this cuvée will bring out the flavours of an excellent sole in lemon butter or a delicious milk-fed veal chop with chanterelle mushrooms. It exhibits perfect Billecart style, yet tension is present, a sign of the vintage. It is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir (sourced from Aÿ, Mareuil and Verzenay) and 40% Chardonnay from Mesnil, Chouilly and Cramant, and it matured 83% in tanks and 17% in old oak barrels. 20/04/2023 Yohan Castaing1.5LAsk about this

It's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with an enveloping attack and a bright underlying spice of acidity, revealing plenty of chalky dry extract and concentration, concluding with a long and precise finish. Despite the style of the vintage and the fact that malolactic fermentation was largely blocked, this is quite a textural, powerful wine. 31/08/2019 William Kelley750 mlAsk about this
